Our wood procurement department is staffed by a licensed forester.
  • Forester Don Winsor brings over thirty years of experience in working with landowners, loggers, and state agencies, assuring that our timber harvesting is performed in a sustainable and safe manner.
The procurement team plays many roles in the company. Providing our state-of-the-art sawmill and pulpwood chipping facility with a steady volume of hardwood logs and round wood pulp is of paramount importance. From bidding on timber sales, negotiating with landowners and loggers, on through to the scaling and grading of forest products at the mill, our procurement staff is instrumental in the wood flow process.

HHP. Inc's procurement team also designs and implements forest management plans on company-owned and private timberlands; adhering to the Best Management Practices and applying sound forest science. Concurrent with intensive management for high-quality hardwood saw timber, is our cooperative work with NH Fish and Game Dept., performing wildlife habitat enhancement projects.

In addition, our forester is a certified Tree Farm Inspector, providing this service free of charge to area Tree Farmers. Procurement staff are also active in Project Learning Tree, an educational natural resource outreach program for schoolchildren. In addition to our company's corporate membership, our foresters are active board members in the State of New Hampshire Forester Licensing Board, the New Hampshire Timberland Owners Association and the New Hampshire Tree Farm Committee.
